Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 10/28/2021 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jillinda Chandler made an announced visit to Rolling Hills United Methodist Church (RHUMC) Kid Zone for the purpose of conducting a case management visit to decrease the school \342\200\223 age programs capacity. On 9/7/2021 LPA Chandler met with Myra Ghabrial and Gabriela Palacios to discuss assigning two classrooms rooms 101 and 102 that where originally a part of the to the school age program, to the preschool. During the visit LPA Chandler informed Ms. Palacio the school-age director, that in order for the two classes to be assigned to the pre-school that the capacity for the school age program would have to be reduced and a new fire inspection would have to be conducted. A fire inspection was conducted by Michael Judkins of the L.A. County Fire Prevention unit. During today inspection LPA Chandler measured all areas considered school-age activity space, the following areas were measured to determine the new capacity for the school-age program: Rooms 204 - 209 in the two story building, the Mission Room, the Choir room, Wesley Hall and the Youth lounge located on the second floor above the gym. There were 20 toilets and 5 urinals for a total of 25 toilets designated for children use. There were 17 sinks available for children's use. Restrooms were gender identifiable for individual privacy, restrooms that were not gender identified shall not be used simultaneously by both genders. The outdoor activity space was not evaluated during today inspection, all outdoor activity areas remain. The following areas were identified for outdoor activities: The play yard outside of the gymnasium The launch pad across the parking lot (refer to LIC. 809 dated 11/17/2010) The larger play yard located behind the 2 story building, there is a waiver on file for the school-age children to share this yard with the preschool program. Based on todays observations the facility's capacity shall remain at 195. During the visit conducted on 9/7/2021 rooms originally granted for school-age use were not considered in the capacity calculations and therefore a decrease was not required.
