What the inspector wrote

On 11/24/2025 @ 2:30PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Devon Carus conducted a Case Management Unusual Incident inspection to follow up on the self- reported incident regarding a Hand Foot and Mouth outbreak that occurred on 11/21/2025 at the Future Stars Academy located at 2320 Pacific Coast Highway. Los Angeles, CA 90717. The El Segundo Regional Office received the incident report on 11/21/2025. Upon arrival, LPA Carus toured the facility and observed 21 children being supervised by 6 staff members. All center staff that was present during today’s inspection had fingerprint clearance and are associated to the designated license number. LPA interviewed the following: Staff member #1 (S1) as the Assistant Director. The incident happened towards the end of the day, but is a culmination of multiple times and occurrences since the illnesses were all reported at different times. The three children involved in the report have all remained absent since 11/21/2025, and have not followed up with the school regarding clearance to return as of 11/24/2025. At this point, the school has taken measures to sanitize all children’s areas in the affected classrooms with disinfectant sprays, soaps intended for rugs, and vacuumed the entirety of the children’s classrooms. Additionally, staff have been instructed to perform wellness checks at drop off, and have not identified or have been informed of further cases of the Hand Foot and Mouth illness. Furthermore, LPA Carus advised staff to continue to monitor the illness and to assure the parents of children who have contracted the illness receive a doctor’s note before returning to the pre school. At this time, based on the available information, no violations will be cited today. The content of this report was read and discussed in detail with Celeste Perez, assistant director. An exit interview was conducted. The notice of site visit must be posted for 30 days upon receipt.
