What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Devon Carus and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Maureen Neal conducted a case management inspection to amend the deficiency page from the 1/22/2025 inspection. In addition, LPA Carus inspected children's files, and 2 other deficiencies for pool requirements were issued today. LPA observed LIC 9224 for the recent citation issued on 1/22/2025 on file for 4 of 9 enrolled children. Licensee says she is still waiting on parents to return the forms for the other 5 enrolled children, and will send to LPA Carus's email when those arrive. LPA and LPM toured facility inside and out, and observed the swimming pool with no 17 inch or larger life preserver ring, no 12 foot rescue pole with body hook, and no safety equipment maintenance log. LPA reviewed AB 2866 with licensee for update to pool safety requirements. (2 Type B citations were issued) See LIC 809-D . Exit interview conducted. A copy the report and notice of cite visit were read and provided to the licensee.

Pool does not have an approved safety life ring with a minimum diameter of 17" and a fixed length pole with body hook that has a minimum length of 12' which poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
