Facility-requested visit·February 7, 2024

On 2/7/2024 Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Suzette Ornelas and Jillinda Chandler met with Director, Kristi Reed. The purpose of the visit was an announced case management \342\200\223 licensee initiated inspection to reopen the toddler component at the facility and to ensure that health, safety and personal rights as requires by Title 22 and Health and Safety Regulations governing California Child Care Centers will be met. LPAs observed 49 preschool children and 12 staff members present during this inspection. Facility is requesting to add a Toddler Component to the existing Preschool license. Facility is requesting 42 toddler children ages 18 months to 36 months and 68 preschool children ages 2 years - entry into first grade. The child care center will operate Monday \342\200\223 Friday 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. Facility has an approved fire clearance on file dated 1/11/2024 conducted by Theodore Debs of the LA City Fire Prevention Bureau. LPAs toured the facility and director confirmed that facility has a total of 4 preschool classrooms. Facility has designated 3 classrooms which will be used for the Toddler Component. LPAs toured and measured the on-limit areas and classrooms according to the facility sketch. Classroom measurements: Toddler Component Indoor total measurements 1223.42 sq. ft. which will accommodate 34 toddlers. Toddler Classrooms used will be the Blue, Green and Yellow Classrooms. Preschool Component Indoor total measurements 2378.02 sq. ft. which will accommodate 67 children. Preschool Classrooms used will be the Purple, Rainbow, Violet and Sky Classrooms. Restrooms: Toddler Option: 3 toilets and 3 sinks Preschool Option: 8 toilets 1 urinal and 5 sinks Page 2 Outdoor Play measurements: Toddler Outdoor total measurements : 3433.10 sq. ft. which will accommodate 45 children. Toddler outdoor area is located right next to the Toddler classrooms. Toddlers have access to the outdoor play area from the classrooms. Preschool Outdoor total measurements: 57040.82 sq. ft. which will accommodate 760 children. Square footage included the enclosed play area and the open field grass area. All outdoor and indoor passageways, stairways, inclines, ramps, open porches and other areas of potential hazard were observed to be free of obstruction. The child care center was observed be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. Floor of the classroom has a surface that is safe and clean. A comfortable temperature for children was observed. The classroom was observed to be equipped with appropriate furniture and equipment, including, but not limited to, children\342\200\231s size tables and chairs, assortment of age appropriate toys, mats and changing table. Tables and chairs were observed to be meet the needs of the children. Furniture was observed to be maintained in good repair and safe condition. The type, height and size of furniture and equipment was observed to be age appropriate. Based on todays inspection and measurements, the facility should be recommended for: Toddlers - 34 Preschoolers- 67 Application request will be reviewed with Licensing Program Manager for final decision. Exit interview was conducted with Facility director and a copy of the report and Notice of Site visit was provided.
