What the inspector wrote

On 02/26/2026 Licensing Prgram Analyst ( LPA) Doris Whitmore conducted an unannounced 3 Year Required Inspection at the above-mentioned facility. LPA was greeted by Veronica Chavez. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility. LPA Whitmore was guided on a tour of the home both inside and outside. Present during today’s inspection was Licensee and assistant LPA checked to make sure during today’s inspection all adults were fingerprint cleared and associated to the facility. There was a total of 2 children in care and 2 adults at the time of the inspection. The capacity as specified on the licensee is being maintained during today’s inspection. The purpose of this inspection is to ensure that health, and safety standards are being met as required by Title 22 Regulations governing California Child Care Homes will be met by licensee. The facility is licensed for a Family Child Care with a max of 14 The facility hours of operation are Monday- Friday from 7:30a.m. to 6:00p.m. LPA observed the back playroom and bathroom located in the playroom, and the garage are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of doors. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. There were not pets observed on the premises. LPA Whitmore shared information with the licensee the pool regulations. LPA asked the licensee if the neighbor's had a swimming pool. The licensee stated that she does not know. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. There are no fireplaces in the home. LPA observed one open face heater in the living room that was identified as an off-limits area. LPA observed two fire extinguishers in the home one was a 3 A- 40 BC and the other fire extinguisher was a 2A-10BC, At the time of the inspection the smoke detector and carbon monoxide was tested and working properly. There was a fully stocked first aid kit. There are no stairs in this home. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (310) 673-2557.LPA reviewed a total of four chi children’s files . One file was missing the Lic 9227 form. There was no record of documentation for the 15 minute check. All required other forms were in the files. LPA checked three staff files all mandated reporter training was current. All First Aid and CPR were current and up to date, One file was missing the immunization record. LPA observed a backyard that is off limits to the children in care. LPA Whitmore interviewed the licensee for the Child Care questions. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Childcare Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and- resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Silvia of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov / and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP . When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. During the exit interview, the LICENSEE ****, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
