On 8/14/25, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Crystal Ali conducted an unannounced annual random inspection. The LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry by the Assistant Kim. The Licensee guided the LPA on a tour of the home. Upon entry to the facility, the LPA observe 3 daycare children in care, licensee, and two assistants. This is a large family childcare home. The operational childcare hours are Monday through Sunday open 23 hours each day. Licensee states she does provide overnight care. Staffing Ration and Capacity: This is a two-story family home. There is a dining room/living room, family room, kitchen, five bedrooms, three bathrooms, laundry area, backyard and garage. The off-limits areas are the upstairs (four bedrooms and two bathrooms), bedroom #1 (downstairs-baby room), laundry area, garage, and backyard. There are no bodies of water on premises. Per the Licensee, there is no smoking or weapons on the premises. Physical Plant: The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. The daycare areas (the whole downstairs) are the dining room/living room, family room, kitchen, bedroom #1(baby room), bathroom, and backyard. Licensee does provide food and water for the children. License is not enrolled in the food program. Licensee states that parents provide diapers and wipes for infants and formula. There are window cords in the home. LPA informed licensee to tie up the window cords to be inaccessible to children. Licensee showed LPA the devices (window cord wind-up) she has to put on window cords to inaccessible. Licensee completed this task. There are no pets in the home. Licensee utilizes her cell phone for day care business. Licensee states she does have a land line for emergencies. There are age-appropriate toys and equipment on the premises. The First Aid kit included a temperature thermometer, tweezer, scissors, gauzes, and cleansing pads/solution was observed to be complete and inaccessible to children in pantry(door has safety knob). LPA observed emergency kits (3) located next to sliding door in family room. Napping: Children are provided napping when needed in the living room. Licensee states she has cots (7) and play pens for infants. Licensee states she provides napping materials and cleans napping materials weekly unless they are sick or have an accident then they are washed immediately. Laundry day is every Thursday. Transportation: The licensee does provide transportation to school and field trips only. Licensee states that only herself and spouse will transport. LPA observe valid drivers license (licensee and spouse), car insurance, and car registration. Kitchen: Knives are kept in a box in garage, inaccessible to children by safety knob on door. Medication is kept in locked container in master bedroom upstairs, inaccessible to children by safety gate. Licensee states no children on medication. There are five children with food allergies. LPA observe allergy list posted on the refrigerator. Licensee states that there is no epi-pen on premises. Licensee states that they are very diligent with preparing food. If allergic reaction occurs facility will call parent and 911. Food allergy symptoms are throwing up for the two children that are enrolled. Cleaning supplies and chemicals are kept in garage and laundry room inaccessible to children by safety knobs. LPA observed two safety latches that need to be replaced middle top drawer on island and top left drawer from stove. Baby room has one crib, 1 play pen, 2 small futon couches, one twin bed. Each infant has there on supply drawer with their name on it that hold diapers, wipes, etc. Living room/dining room has five tables for school lessons. Family room has four small tables and one crib. Fire Extinguisher: The required fire extinguisher (2A10BC) is reading in green (last calibrated 1/16/25) and is located on the wall next to backyard door in den. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were found to be in compliance per fire marshal standards. Licensee states fire marhsal came in to say hi one day in 2013. He asked how things are going and then left. There was no formal inspection. Fire and Disaster drills are conducted at least every six-months, the last fire drill on record is June 6, 2025. Bathroom: The daycare bathroom is located down the hallway 3 rd door on the left. The bathroom has 1 sink, 1 toilet, and a shower. Bathroom is clean and in good repair. The bottom sink cabinet has safety latch. Outdoor Space Activity: The outdoor area is the backyard. Backyard was inspected for safety and hazardous items. LPA observed large, shaded patio area, sink used for hand washing, a/c unit with gated, plenty of toys (3 small slides, 5 tricycles, 5 scooters, 2 sand tables, 3 water tables, 5 small tables for activities and eating, one large shed with lock.). Records/Documentation: LPA reviewed with facility representative the LIC 126, records to be maintained at the facility, for child\342\200\231s records, personnel records, administrative records, and parent board. Licensee was able to provide a valid Pediatric CPR/First Aid training, expired 5/17/27. Child Care Provider Mandated Reporter Training Certificate has been completed expires 2/21/26. Employee (4) records are complete. Children\342\200\231s records files (4) are compliance. Children records are missing the following: LIC 9227 (C1 & C2) and LIC 700 (C1, C2, and C4). Licensee had all the required posted documents: Facility License (LIC 203A, Notice of Parent's Rights Poster (PUB 394), Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610A), and Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC 9148). Criminal Record Clearance - Family Child Care Homes Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Safe Sleep - Family Child Care Homes LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Megan\342\200\231s Law - Family Child Care Homes During the exit interview, the Licensee, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. No deficiencies cited in accordance with Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations and/or Health & Safety codes. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
