This is a combination center which includes an infant toddler option (197413767) and school age component (197413768). During this inspection LPA toured the facility, observed equipment/supplies, and reviewed a sample of children and staff files. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) were discussed. The center currently has no children in the "early preschool program" requiring IMS. Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid was observed (expires on 12/28/24). Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. All rooms are clean and safe. Telephone service was verified. Heating, lighting, and ventilation are adequate. There are cubbies for children's belongings. There is 1 restroom with 2 toilets and 1 sink in each classroom. LPA, observed drinking water available for children in the form of filtered bottle water and disposable cups. Children also bring there own water bottles to the day care facility. All trash cans are covered with lids. Cleaning supplies are kept in a high cabinet and out of reach. LPA observed a sufficient quantity of cots available for napping children. There were age appropriate toys and materials in each room. Allergy list is posted in each classroom. Fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector were observed to be operable condition. Activity log is maintained electronically through an application call Sprout Aboutl. Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water (none on premises). There is shade and water available for children. Children are inspected for illnesses as they arrive each day. A review of medication policy indicated that prescription medication is administered and only with parent's written permission. The director or assistant director administers medication and documents the dosage, date and time onto a log. Medication is brought and taken home by the parent daily or retained in a lock box properly labeled and stored in its original container in the directors office. There is a separate area for isolation and care of ill children in the director's office. There is a separate cot with fresh linens available for each ill child. There is a clean, fully equipped kitchen with 2 refrigerators, freezers, microwave, and sink. The facility provides breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine if the basic needs of children are met and appropriate. Fire/earthquake drills are current. Last drill conducted on 01/23. Personal rights of children were discussed. Director Ruby was reminded to access the Licensing website at ccld.ca.gov to obtain information about the most recent regulatory changes and the Quarterly Updates.
