What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Roberto Luque Avila conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the above facility on 12/17/2024. LPA arrived at the facility at 01:20PM, identified self and met with Amalia Moncayo, facility representative who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Licensee arrived to the facility at approximately 1:45PM. LPA provided Licensee with a copy of the LIC 126 Entrance Checklist to help facilitate the inspection. LPA observed 5 children 1 staff upon arrival. Per Licensee, operation hours are 8:30AM to 4:30PM. There are 13 children that are currently enrolled. The licensee is observed to be operating within the license capacity limitations. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent\342\200\231s Rights Poster and the Facility License were observed to be posted. This is a one story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 children's rooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room, and fenced front yard and backyard. The children use the bathroom #2 located in children's room #2. The restroom that children use was observed to be safe and sanitary. Per Licensee, areas off limits to children are: Bedroom #1, #2, #3, bathroom #1, kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room, and front yard, these areas are made inaccessible by child safety gates and door safety knobs. The licensee provide snacks to children and children bring their own meals. All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. There is telephone service via a cellphone that is used and the cellphone stays at the facility during operation hours. There is ventilation and heating via central air. Safe toys, play equipment and materials were observed. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger to children were observed to be inaccessible to children. The licensee states that there are no poisons in the home and understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home. Page 1 of 2 The valve on the required 2A10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was serviced on 3/26/24, as indicated on service tag. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are located in children's room #1 and #2 and were tested and are operable. All homes shall conduct fire and disaster drills at least once every six months and document the date and time of each drill. Last drill documented was conducted on 11/8/24 LPA did not observe the following items during the inspection: Infant Walkers, Johnny Jumpers, Saucer Chairs, Trampolines and/or any other item that fall into these categories are not permitted in a family child care facility. LPA did not observe any children left in parked vehicles. Car seats shall only be used for transportation. LPA did not observe any children sleeping in car seats. There are 2 dogs on the premises that remain in the main part of the home and are inaccessible by a child safety gate and a barn door. There is a rabbit in the front yard and is inaccessible by a gate and the rabbit is caged. LPA did not observe any pools, spas, hot tubs, fish ponds, or similar bodies of water during the inspection. Smoking is prohibited in a licensed Family Child Care Home. Per Licensee, no one smokes in the home. During the exit interview, the licensee, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted, appeal rights and report were provided with the licensee Aura Veronica Castro Villalta. Due to time constraints this annual inspection will be completed on a later date.
