What the inspector wrote

On 11/25/2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Veronica Wheatley conducted an announced Annual Inspection and was met by Licensee, Saira Estrada. LPA observed 6 children on the premises of which one child is licensee's daughter. The children were laying down on mats for naptime. The operating hours are Monday through Friday 6am to 6pm. LPA toured the home inside and outside. The home is a three bedrooms and two bathroom house. Areas that are accessible to children are as follows: Living room and bathroom near the kitchen. There is also a converted garage. Licensee states the children are not utilizing right now. Licensee understands no children may nap or eat inside of the converted garage. The area that is off limits to children: All bedrooms, licensee's bathroom, the backyard and patio. Licensee was informed to submit pictures to the department when she plans to use the backyard for the children. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children with locks. No poisons were observed during the inspection. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises . There are no firearms or ammunition stored on the premises . There is a fully charged fire extinguisher which is checked by the fire department. The facility has a working smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector. The smoke detectors are wired electrically. The facility has a screened wall heater for safety and comfort. There are portable fans available. LPA observed a screened fireplace in the living room. There are no stairs inside the home. LPA observed age appropriate safe toys, materials and play equipment. The home has working telephone service. Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. LPA reviewed the children's records and assistant's file. All files are complete and up to date. Licensee\342\200\231s and licensee's assistant have pediatric CPR/First Aid was completed expires 4/2026. Mandated Reporter Training expires 4/2026. A review of records indicates that licensee and assistant have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis and measles. LPA observed roster and fire drill log. This facility does not provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Safe Sleep - LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. LPA advised Licensee of required 15 minutes check and must document date and time of each check and observe infant for signs of distress for infants zero (0) to 24 months of age. No infants are present today. MyChildCarePlan.org \342\200\223 Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited. An exit interview was conducted, a copy of this report was read and provided to the Licensee. This report shall me made available to the public upon request. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit was provided and required to be posted for 30 days.
