What the inspector wrote

On 9/18/2024 at 8:50am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Loyce Phillips conducted an unannounced Required 3-Year Inspection and was met by Licensee, Yvette Gil. LPA observed 2 children in care with Licensee. No other adults were present during the inspection. Licensee operating hours are from 5:00am to 6:00pm. The facility does not have liability insurance. Waivers are on file. Licensee provides breakfast, lunch and am/pm snacks to children in care. 2 additional arrived at 11:00am. LPA toured inside and outside the facility. Licensee resides in a 2-story home with 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, family room, living room, dining area, kitchen, study and detached garage. There is 2nd unit on the property with a different address. The tenants that reside in the 2nd unit have a criminal record clearance on file. The areas that are accessible to children: Family room (main day care room) located in between bedroom #1 and bedroom #2, 1/2 bathroom located in the daycare room, kitchen, dining area and back yard for outdoor play. The areas that are off limits to children: Upstairs area which consist of a bedroom #3, bathroom #2 and a study. Bedroom #2, garage and storage area located to the far left of the back yard. The upstairs is made off limits by a safety gate. There are no bodies of water or swimming pools on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored in the facility . No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children. There is a full charged fire extinguisher located near the front door/dining area. The facility has a working smoke detector located in the hallway and carbon monoxide detector located bedroom #1. The facility has adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The family room has a fire place inaccessible to children in care. The FCCH has safe toys, materials and play equipment. Children nap on cots. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (310) 922-4151. Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. Car seats are used for transportation purposes only and are not used for sleeping children. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter on 6/18/2024. LPA observed Licensee's CPR/First aid was completed on 11/11/2023 TB test and immunizations on file. This facility does not provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Safe Sleep - LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee Yvette Gil and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. LPA provided a safe sleep log and LIC 9227 to Licensee. 809-C To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. MyChildCarePlan.org \342\200\223 Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited. An exit interview was conducted, Licensee confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. A copy of this report was read and provided to the Licensee. This report shall me made available to the public upon request. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit was provided and required to be posted for 30 days.
