What the inspector wrote

On March 12,2026, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA's) Erica Lujan and Portia Bowden conducted an unannounced case management visit. At 12:00 p.m. LPA's met Barbara Owens acting site supervisor, explained purpose of visit and guided on tour. LPA's observed 20 infants supervised by 8 teachers. Facility also houses a pre-school program under facilty #197416987. LPA observed 24 pre-school children and supervised by 7 staff. Capacity as per their license is being followed. The purpose of today's visit was to follow up on UIR reported on 2/19/2026. Per UIR, 3 children contracted Hand, Foot, Mouth (HFM) between 02/02-02/19/2026. Per acting site supervisor, facility protocol is to notify all parents of children in care once their is a confirmed case for HFM. Per acting site supervisor on 2/12/26, a letter was placed on parent board to notify all parents of exposure. LPA's observed the letter dated for 2/12/2026 and received a copy. Per acting site supervisor facility protocol once a child has been diagnosed with HFM is to be absent from facility for a minimum of 10 days. Facility does not require doctor's notes to return to school. Facility increased monitoring of HFM areas in all children during mornings by conducting a health check. Facility protocol is to refuse any child with HFM symptoms and to isolated children who develop signs of HFM to the front office as they await for pickup by the parents. Per acting site supervisor, staff have sanitized hard surface for each classroom by using bleach. Staff also threw away shared toys such as sand and does not allowed shared toys for the children. Janitor comes to deep clean after hours on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. Further information regarding time frame and reporting requirements is needed. LPA's will return when site supervisors returns from vacation on 3/16/026. No deficiencies was observed during today's inspection. A notice of site visit was provided and shall remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview and report provided to acting site supervisor Barbara Owens.
