What the inspector wrote

On February 17, 2023 at 9:30 AM, Regional Manager (RM) Sharon Greene, Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Valarie Cook, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Monique Ayala, and LPA Rosaura Valenzuela conducted an unannounced inspection at the facility noted above and met with Preschool Teacher, Katrina Williams. The purpose of the inspection was to remeasure the facility for a pending Capacity Change application. This facility is currently licensed for 8 school-age children and is requesting to increase their capacity to 17 school-age children. The facility obtained a granted fire clearance for the requested capacity. This facility provides before and after school care, and consists of 1 classroom. The operating hours for this program is Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This facility also has a licensed infant center (License Number: 197412438) and licensed preschool center (License Number: 197412437) on-site. Per Licensee, the school-age children will no longer utilize the outdoor play yard located behind the building. Licensee stated that she will submit a waiver request to utilize the gated outdoor preschool play yard for outdoor activity for the school-age program with use of a staggered schedule. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. Upon arrival, no children or staff were present for the school-age program. Based on measurements taken during today's inspection, including sink and toilet availability the facility is equipped for 14 school-age children. The Director will submit the following documents to the Monterey Park Child Care Regional Office by Wednesday, February 22, 2023: Updated Application for a Child Care Center License (LIC 200A) for the capacity of 15 school-age children and Waiver Request for the Outdoor Play Yard with a Staggered Schedule. A Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) was given and must remain posted for 30 days. No deficiencies were cited during today's inspection. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Preschool Teacher, Katrina Williams.
