What the inspector wrote

On 08/27/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lisa Clayton, conducted a case management inspection to follow up on an Unusual Incident, reported to the department by telephone 07/14/2025. LPA Clayton met with Director Nara Keheyan. LPA Clayton observed 52 children in care, being supervised by 9 fingerprint cleared staff. Description of the incident: confirmed cases of Hand Foot Mouth in the infant program Toddler 1 class as follows: C1 and C2 were reported on July 7, C3 was reported on July 11, C4 was reported July 14 and C5 left with a rash on Wednesday and Friday July 11 it was confirmed. Director Nara called the health department today July 14, 2025. We were advised to monitor and call if we have more cases. LPA advised to deep clean, and Director said no water play or interacting with the other toddler class. LPA Clayton advised RP to include additional cases and any instructions from the Health Department in the written report. Per the written report, children with symptoms were excluded from the center until guidelines in the Department of Public Health letter were met. Assistant Director Nelly stated that C1 had been out of school for a few days and her teacher called to check on her and dad reported that she had a confirmed hand foot mouth infection. C2 was sent home from school with a fever a few days before and the staff called to check on him and his parents confirmed hand foot and mouth infection. The teachers began checking the students at the center and informed parents using the BrightDay app that same day. During today\342\200\231s inspection, LPA Clayton spoke with Director Nara about the incident and received copy of the letter to parents and the clearance letter, both generated by the County of Los Angeles Public Health department. Based on LPA\342\200\231s interview and observations, Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations and/or Health and Safety Codes, no Deficiencies or Technical Violations were cited. An exit interview was conducted, the report and Appeal Rights were reviewed and provided to Director Nara. LPA Clayton posted a Notice of Site Visit which must remain posted for 30 days.
