What the inspector wrote

On 1/22/2026 @ 3:46pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Devon Carus conducted a Case Management Unusual Incident inspection to follow up on the self- reported incident that occurred on 1/7/2025 at the LA Marina Infant Center located at 115 S. Sepulveda Blvd. Manhattan Beach CA, 90266. The El Segundo Regional Office received the incident report on 1/7/2026. Upon arrival, LPA Carus observed 11 children being supervised by 4 staff members. All center staff that was present during today\342\200\231s inspection had fingerprint clearance and are associated to the designated license number. The facility reported on 1/7/2026 to the department that a parent reported to them on 1/7/2026 in person that their infant had a small object in their mouth. The child was in care on 1/6/2026. LPA Carus interviewed the director/ administrator as a witness to the incident. According to the statements by the center\342\200\231s staff, there is not evidence to indicate that the child acted unusual prior to leaving the infant center on 1/6/2026. LPA Carus inspected the classrooms, and storage of the items associated with the specific item mentioned as a part of the incident, and observed them to be safe and free of hazards to children in care. On 1/7/2026, the associated infant child did not return to the facility, however on 1/12/2026 the child was back in care and is currently enrolled. Based on the information received and the time frames reported by the parent of the associated child, the department does not have sufficient information to determine whether the infant may have sustained the item that was observed in their mouth from La Marina Infant Center. No deficiencies will be cited today An exit interview was conducted, and this report was provided/ reviewed with the Administrator, Bibiana Aguilera.
