What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Portia Bowden and Christine Nolan conducted an unannounced Case Management Inspection at the above facility to follow up on an Unusual Incident Report (UIR) that was received by the department on 5/5/25. LPAs met with Marquetta Mcclure Licensee, who guided LPAs on a tour of the facility. There was 1 child present during today's inspection. Also present in the home was Licensee\342\200\231s husband. All adults present had criminal clearances. Per the UIR during AM drop off in the daycare living room Licensee was in the process of admitting 1 child into family child care home when Child 1 became excited, ran to the greet the child, tripped over the leg of a high chair, bumping the left side of his head on the wheel of the high chair, causing a small laceration approximately 3 centimeters above his left eye. Per Licensee she applied an ice pack to the wound and called parent who immediately picked up child. Per Licensee child 1 has not returned to care since the incident but is scheduled to return Monday 5/19/25. Per Licensee she has followed up daily with parent of child 1 who stated the child is fine and has not returned to care for personal reasons. Per Licensee she does not believe child 1 was taken to the Doctor but she will follow up with parent. Per Licensee highchair was placed in the corner of the daycare living room near the small children\342\200\231s table. At 10:30AM LPA\342\200\231s observed high chair in the daycare living room to be free of hazards and placed in the corner near cribs. LPAs observed floors in the home to be adequate and free of tripping hazards. During today\342\200\231s visit, LPAs interviewed Licensee. Based on all information obtained on this date, and interview conducted with Licensee, no follow-up is necessary regarding the incident. There were no deficiencies observed in regards to today's visit. Exit interview was conducted with Licensee Marquetta Mcclure, A notice of sit visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days.
