What the inspector wrote

On February 2, 2026 Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Portia Bowden and Erica Lujan conducted an unannounced Required Annual Inspection at the above facility. At 12:45PM LPAs arrived to residence and met with Licensee Marquetta provided entrance check list and conducted a tour of the home. LPA observed no children in care during inspection. Per Licensee there are no children enrolled. Per Licensee hours of operation are 6AM-6PM Monday- Friday. Per Licensee transportation and overnight care are not provided. Per licensee she is not apart of the food program and provides Breakfast, AM snack, lunch, and PM snack. Per Licensee outside food is not permitted in the facility. LPAs observed documents on licensing board (Facility License (LIC 203), Notification of Parents' Rights Poster (PUB 394), Child Care Facility Roster (LIC9040), Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC610a) and ER drill log last dated 10/25. LPA observed Licensee\342\200\231s current Mandated Reporter certificate exp 5/26. LPAs did not observe the licensee\342\200\231s current CPR/First Aid Certification. Per Licensee she was unable to locate document, LPAs observed licensee\342\200\231s expired pediatric CPR/First Aid exp 4/25. Per Licensee she is certain she has a current certification and will locate document and place it on her licensing board. Individuals residing in the home have been discussed and noted. All adults present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption. All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. The following was observed and reviewed during this inspection: This is a one-story home consisting of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen, dining room (main daycare area), and enclosed sideyard. Per Licensee areas off limits to children and parents include all 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and living room. Per Licensee she has a baby gate to separate offlimit living room from dining room during daycare operating hours. At 12:50PM LPAs observed a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher with a service tag dated 7/24 on the kitchen wall. Per Licensee she will have it serviced immediately, LPA observed a functioning combination carbon monoxide/smoke detector on the living room wall. The home was observed to have proper ventilation and heating for safety and comfort. LPAs observed a wood burning fireplace in the off limit living room, unbarricaded. The home maintains telephone service via cell phone. Per licensee there are no firearms or ammo on the premises. Kitchen area was observed to be clean and free of clutter and have no sharp objects or chemical compounds accessible to children in care. LPAs observed kitchen knives in a kitchen cabinet on the highest shelf, inaccessible to children in care. Per licensee cleaning supplies are kept Bathroom children use was observed to be clean and free of hazards. LPA observed bathroom sink cabinet to contain toilet paper. Per Licensee potty training is provided LPAs observed age appropriate learning materials and toys in the daycare dining area LPAs observed cots for sleeping children in care. Per Licensee all linens are washed here in the facility once a week and as needed. Outdoor Play for children in care is located in the enclosed side yard. At 1:20PM LPAs observed grassy area and age appropriate toys. LPAs observed a community pool approximately 1 mile from facility to be in compliance. No children\342\200\231s files were reviewed as there are no children enrolled Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [or facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [or facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
