What the inspector wrote

Six of seven parents interviewed stated that the children and dogs are separated, and the dogs are kept in the front of the house. The dogs can be seen through a side window as one enters the daycare from the back yard. All explained that they had never seen or heard of any physical injuries from the dogs. One parent expressed concerns regarding her two sons being afraid of the dogs jumping on them but did not say anything to the licensee. Pertaining to the allegation the allegation of, the Licensee did not prevent day care child from getting injured by a dog while in care. Per reporting party one of the dogs scratched Child #1 (C1\342\200\231s) face next to C1\342\200\231s nose leaving a one-inch mark. The dog also scratched C1\342\200\231s lip and gums causing minor bleeding. Based upon observations and evidence obtained during this investigation, the allegation of, the Licensee did not prevent day care child from getting injured by a dog while in care, has been determined unsubstantiated. A finding that a complaint is unsubstantiated means that although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred. Notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee: Elena Cua Villalta.
