What the inspector wrote
On 9/07/2022 at 1:50PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Denise Miranda conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Veronica Alzaga Also, was present one assistant with 8 children (who 3 were infants). This inspection was conducted in Spanish.
Per Licensee, the facility operation days is from Monday – Friday - 6:00AM- 6:00PM. Licensee agreed to submit a revised LIC999a Facility Sketch floor plan and yard via mail LPA Miranda no later than 09/12/2022.
The licensee's home is a one story home with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living and dinning room. Licensee also has a detached garage with one bathroom that she will use as an activity room only. Licensee understands no eating and napping in the detached garage.
Licensee uses the back of the detached garage for storage and it is inaccessible to the children in care. Licensee uses the bathroom from the garage area, only when children are playing outside.
LPA observed that detached garage, has a white door with a door knob located on the back of the garage, that leads out to the back yard. LPA also observed black iron fence/gate with locks to the back yard that leads to the pool area.

er licensee, children will use the bathroom in the home located in the hallway and the bathroom in the detached garage. The outdoor area, located in front of the detached garage and the detached garage will be use only for activities.
The off-limit : Master bedroom, bedroom#1 and bedroom#2, bathroom#2, laundry room, swimming pool area, and backyard located behind of the detached area.
There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. Licensee, has one pet dog, that
Licensee keeps inaccessible to the children in care.
No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
LPA observed a fireplace located at the living with a proper barricade - face screen. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. Furniture was observed with no loose or sharp parts, clean and in good repair.
There is a swimming pool in the back yard enclosed by property walls and a 5 foot fence. The fence runs from the detached garage wall all the way to the end wall/fence to the back yard. LPA observe additional iron fence from the back yard. LPA observed 3 iron gates to the pool. The pool gates was tested and observed to be self-closing and self-latching and opens away from the pool area. The latch on the pool gates is located at the top
. On the detached garage, has two small windows with iron bars, looking to the swimming pool area. The iron bars on the windows, making this area inaccessible to the swimming pool area
The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (818) 437-7245.
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. Car seats were not observed at facility. The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained.
LPA reviewed all children’s files and observed all files were completed. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training was completed on 6/16/2021, Mandated Reporter training is due for renewal on 6/16/2023. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid completed on 1/17/2021 and is due for renewal on 01/17/2023. There is one currently employee at the facility present at this time and file was reviewed and was completed.
All adults who reside or work in the home have a criminal record clearance or exemption. There are no excluded individuals present at this home.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) are not currently being provided. Licensee is aware that an IMS plan is required to be submitted to the licensing office if they provide any of these services. LPA provided consultation and copy the PIN 22-02 CCP (Provider Information Notice) - Provides Information and best Practices for administering Incidental Medical Services will be email to Licensee.
LPA and Licensee discussed the Community Care Licensing website

which will provide access to Provider Information Notices (PINs), Quarterly Updates, COVID-19 Information and Resources, Mandated Reporter Training, Safe Sleep in Child Care, Lead Poisoning Facts, Forms and Regulations.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at

as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Staff interview conducted and documented at 3:40pm.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited.
This report shall be made available to the public upon request. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit is provided and required to be posted for 30 days.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee. Report, Appeal Rights and Notice of Site Visit were given to Licensee.
