What the inspector wrote

On April 17, 2026, at approximately 12:35pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melissa Zaragoza conducted an unannounced, plan of correction (POC) visit at the facility. LPA met with licensee, Veronica Alzaga, and explained the purpose of the visit. Present during today's visit was the licensee, 9 children (2 infants, 7 preschool), and 2 staff assistants. On March 30, 2026, at approximately 12:50pm, LPA Zaragoza conducted an unannounced, annual inspection and walk through inspection at the facility. During walk through inspection, the facility was issued 4 Type B deficiencies for missing a fence around the pool with a self-latching door, a pool rescue pole with a minimum fixed length of 12 feet, a life ring with a minimum exterior diameter of 17 inches, and a pool alarm for detecting entrance into the water. A Plan of Correction was discussed with the licensee. Per licensee, they will make sure their pool follows the AB2866 pool laws. As of this date, 04/17/2026 LPA observed the licensees pool to have a fence around it with a self-latching door, 12 feet rescue pole, life ring with a diameter of 17 inches, and a pool alarm. LPA tested water alarm during visit, and pool alarm was observed to be working. LPA also observed the licensee to have a pool inspection log documentation. LPA observed the facility to be in compliance with the AB2866 Pool Laws and Regulations on today’s date. Deficiencies cited on March 30, 2026, have been cleared during today's visit. LPA provided the licensee with POCs letter. No deficiencies were cited today. Appeal rights were provided. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Veronica Alzaga.
