What the inspector wrote

On August 25, 2021 at 12:17 pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Francisco Pedroza conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPA contacted facility and conducted Covid screening questions prior to entering the facility. LPA met with facility Director Drucilla Khansari and advised her the purpose of the inspection. There was 10 children in care at the time of the inspection. The facility operates 6:30 am to 6:30 pm Monday thru Friday. This is a combined center with school-age and preschool programs. Licensing required notices were posted prominently on the wall in the lobby. The facility uses two classrooms for children. There was one staff supervising three (3) infants in one classroom and two (2) staff supervising seven (7) children in the other classroom. LPA observed both classrooms had age appropriate toys and furnishings. The classrooms had a changing table with sink readily accessible. LPA observed enough cribs for the infants in care. Facility had the required current sleep logs on clip boards mounted on the wall. Food and milk is stored within two refrigerators located in the classroom. LPA reviewed a sampling of Individual needs & services plans and feeding plans. Children bottles and food were properly labeled with child's name and date. Facility identifies bottles with a green label that have breast milk. LPA did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. The outdoor playground has an ample amount of space for children to play. LPA observed the playground has age appropriate toys and structures available for children to use. The playground has ample amount of shade available. The facility has water available for children inside and out. The facility has a clean water container filled with water. Children are provided small paper cups for water. Continued on 809C Center uses the electronic application Brightwheel. A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed. Teachers have required qualifications. Teachers present have current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificates that expire on 2/22/2022. Teachers present have current AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificates that expire on 4/11/2022. LPA verified SB 792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis Requirements. Facility is following current Covid-19 and Safe Sleep guidelines. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. THE NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS POSTED AS REQUIRED BY H&S CODE SEC. 1596.817. THE NOTICE OF SITE VISIT MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS OR A CIVIL PENALTY OF $100.00 WILL APPLY.
