What the inspector wrote

On 06/28/2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Monique Ayala conducted an unannounced Required 1 Year inspection for the above facility. Upon arrival LPA met with the facility Assistant Director who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. LPA observed 78 children in care with 13 staff members. Per Guardian, all staff members are fingerprint cleared. The center operation hours are from 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Center also has licensed infant program ( 197419827 ) on the premises (Programs are kept physically separate). Center has 6 classrooms, utilized by children in care. Classroom #1 Preschool, #2 Toddler, #3 Early Preschool, #4 Preschool, #5 is not in use at the moment and #6 TK. Furniture and equipment was inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. LPA observed individual storage with children\342\200\231s name labeled for children's belongings. The classrooms consist of pitchers that contain water and children bring their own water bottles that are labeled with their names and the facility also provides disposable cups. An isolation area was inspected, which takes place inside the directors office where a mat is provided. Children are provided with mats for nap time. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability and good repair. Toilets flush properly; toilet and sinks are reachable by the children. Each restroom has adequate toilet paper and paper towels available. Restrooms were found to be clean and sanitary. LPA observed changing tables where a sink is within arms reach. First Aid supplies, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide and fire extinguishers were observed and in operable condition. Trash cans with tight lids were observed. The center provides food for the children enrolled. Food was inspected and it was properly labeled, stored, and within expiration date. Refrigerator is clean and operating at the proper temperature. There is hot and cold running water in the kitchen/food preparation area. Food preparation area is adequately equipped, clean, and free from hazards. Cleaning supplies are out of reach of children and stored separately and away from food. Menu is posted for parents review. The outdoor play areas were inspected and observed to be free of hazards, loose, or sharp objects. Equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. Climbing structures, swings, slides, and other large play equipment were found to be securely anchored with adequate resilient cushioning material underneath and around the perimeter. Water pitchers are readily available with disposable cups and personal cups that are labeled for children during outdoor play. There adequate shade area for rest. The playground is well fenced all around, and no bodies of water observed in the outdoor play area. Children's records were reviewed for completeness. Health History, Emergency contact and Medical Exams; Immunization Records and Blue cards are all in the children's files. The facility roster was up to date and disaster drills are conducted every 6 months. The last disaster drill was conducted on 02/03/2021. Director and teachers are currently certified in Pediatric CPR/First Aid which expires on 08/01/2022. Director and teachers mandated reporter training is current with expiration date of 02/24/2023. During the inspection LPA observed adequate teacher child ratio in each classroom. Care and supervision was evaluated and determine basic needs of children are appropriate and are being met. The parent board was reviewed and has all of the required forms posted accessible to parents. The following Incidental Medical Services (IMS) were discussed. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records.
