Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 04/08/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Justeene Tamayo and Licensing Program Manager(LPM) Mariela Ramon conducted an unannounced case management inspection and met with licensee Sara Figueroa for the purpose of inspecting the Koi fish pond located in an off-limit area in the backyard. There is one preschool child in care. The Koi fish pond is made inaccessible by a 4.8 ft cement wall and a wrought iron gate measuring at 5 feet in height. The wall runs from wall to wall. LPA and LPM consulted with licensee and discussed the corrections/plan to ensure it is following Title 22 regulations, requirements for body of water. Licensee plans to remove the entire cement wall barricading the koi pond to ensure visibility. Licensee will install a 5 feet mesh fence from the right side of the home, extending to the right side of the property wall. Licensee will ensure the mesh gate is self-closing,self-latching and latch device is no more than 6 inches from the top of the fence, and opens away from the body of water. Licensee may also decide to leave 2 or 3 cement brick in height, licensee will install the 5 feet mesh fence starting from the cement brick. Once corrections have been made, LPA Tamayo will revisit the facility to ensure corrections are made. An exit interview was conducted, and a copy of this report was read to licensee on this date, along with a Notice of Site Visit.
