Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 08/22/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA)Justeene Tamayo conducted a subsequent Case Management Inspection to verify that the fishpond has been made inaccessible to day care children, as required under Title 22 regulations. Upon arrival, LPA observed 1 infant and 1 school age child in care, along with assistant #1. During the inspection, LPA observed that a 5 foot wrought iron fence has been installed, extending from wall to wall making the fishpond inaccessible. The fence bars are spaced 4 inches apart. The gate opens away from the body of water, however applicant purchased a latching device mechanism to ensure it self-closes and self-latches. The gap between the base of the fence and the concrete surface measures no more than 2 inches. The licensee has completed the necessary corrections to make the fishpond inaccessible, in compliance with Title 22 regulations. The following ongoing safety measures were discussed and must be maintained: -The body of water must always remain inaccessible to children -The fence and gate must be inspected daily to ensure the gate self-closes and self-latches properly, especially before children arrive and prior to any outdoor playtime -No items may be placed near the fence that could be used as a climbing aid -The motion detector camera must always remain in good working condition -Children must always be supervised during outdoor time An exit interview was conducted, and a copy of this report was read and provided to licensee, along with a copy of her appeal rights and Notice of Site Visit.
