Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Per the director, on September 11 school discovered fleas in one of the yards and in the classroom attached to that yard. School closed the two spaces to children, parents, and teachers. The director called the school's pest control company, Aptive, to come in and spray the entire school as soon as they could, which was on September 13. Aptive didn't show that day. The director let all the families and teachers know about the issue right away via the school's communication app, and then found another company, Ecola, to come to the school on September 14. Ecola sprayed the school and classrooms with organic pest control the evening of September 14. The spray was successful in the classroom, but not in the yard. The director called Ecola and requested they return to do another spray right away, but Ecola said they are not allowed to return until after 7 days. The second spray was scheduled for September 22. Ecola came to Oakdale on October 11. The technician and the director walked around the school and found no fleas. Ecola sprayed the perimeter of the school with organic spray. Based on documents obtained and school staff admission, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, therefore the above allegation is found to be SUBSTANTIATED. California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, is cited on the attached LIC9099D. Notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director Jeannine Pignotti.
