Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On July 16, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Calloway conducted an unannounced case management inspection to the above facility. The purpose of the inspection was to conduct an inspection of the garage to ensure it is safe for the day care children. LPA met with the Licensee who granted access. LPA toured the facility with the Licensee and observed two-day care children and one staff in care. LPA observed child care being provided in a portion of the garage for the toddlers and preschool day care children. LPA observed furniture, toys, and books, that were appropriately aged and in good repair. There were two high chairs, three cots for napping, and enough for all children in care. There were cubbies for the children\342\200\231s belongings. All doors were locked, there was an exit door labeled. A fire alarm pull switch was observed on the wall near the door and the temperature was comfortable inside the room. The City of Santa Clarita granted a permit to convert the 3 rd tandem car garage to a livable area. LPA provided a copy of the appeal response letter, a copy of the approved Fire Safety Inspection Request (STD 850), and copies of the previous Fire Safety Inspection Requests that were conducted at the facility. LPA reminded the Licensee that child care is not allowed upstairs. There is a Technical Violation issued during this inspection. See LIC 9102 TV page attached to this report. Exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was read, a Notice of Site Visit, and this report were provided to Nadeen Dorian, Licensee at the facility. A Notice of Site Visit must remain posted for thirty (30) consecutive days. Failure to maintain posting will result in a $100 civil penalty.
