What the inspector wrote

On 7/6/2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jillinda Chandler made an unannounced visit to the Brighter Days Early Learning LLC. preschool for the purpose of conducting a " Required One Year Annual" inspection. Upon arrival there were 24 children being supervised by lead Darlene Estrada-director and four teachers. Day care operations were being held in room number 2 and 3. LPA inspected the classrooms for Health and Safety compliance per Title 22. THE FOLLOWING WAS OBSERVED The floor in the classroom was observed to be in good condition. Age appropriate toys, furniture and equipment were observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were in locked cabinets, inaccessible to children. Trash cans in the classroom had tight fitting lids. Drinking water is readily available both indoors and outdoors. Children have individual cubbies to store their personal belongings LPA observed a refrigerator in the staff lounge for storage of medication in need of refrigeration, there was a locked drawer for storage of other medications. The rooms temperature was set at a comfortable temperature Menus and required posting were observed in a prominent area for review. Parents provide meals and the center provides snacks LPA observed a first aide kit with the required essentials: scissors, tweezers, ointments, bandages and a thermometer. LPA observed napping equipment in good condition, free of rips or tears The isolation area is located in the office or the classroom next the office with a private restroom. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected and observed in operable condition Outdoor playground surface was safe. LPA observed resilient cushioning in need of minor repairs, no hazardous condition were observed during today inspection. Benches and shading were observed FACILITY RECORDS Staff files were reviewed and found to be current and updated All individuals present had obtained a criminal record clearance or criminal record exemption. There was at least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid present during this visit. A review of children’s files, found the records to be complete and up-to-date .
