What the inspector wrote

On August 14th, 2025 at 2:00 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Brian Fung and Veronica Diaz conducted an unannounced Required- 3 Year inspection. LPAs met with head teacher of toddlers Samantha Hashemyar, site director Sumali Ganegoda, and head of school Rola Kontar and advised the purpose of the inspection. Samantha Hashemyar provided LPAs a tour of the center inside and out. There were 31 children in care at the time of the inspection and 7 teachers, 1 director, and 1 head of school in the center. Center operates M-F 7:00am to 5:30pm. LPAs observed required licensing documents mounted on the walls throughout the facility. Last fire drill was conducted on 6/26/25. Each of the classrooms have age-appropriate toys and furniture readily accessible for children in care. LPAs observed enough restrooms available for children to use. LPAs did not observe any hazards/toxins items accessible to children. First Aid kits were observed in classroom and front office. Currently the center uses an app called Brightwheel for pictures and a form of communication and sign in/out. Center provides morning and afternoon snacks. Lunch is delivered by a third-party company name Bailey's Plate if requested by parents. Families who opt out of the food service delivery programs provides individual lunch to their children. Menus are posted on communication board in each classroom. The outdoor playground is shaded and has an ample amount of space for children to play. LPAs observed the playground has age-appropriate toys and structures available for children to use. Storage units were observed to be locked. Continued LIC 809-C A sampling of 5 children and 5 staff records were reviewed. LPA observed children and staff files to be complete and current. Staff mandated reporter certification are all current. LPA verified SB792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis requirements. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP . LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with the director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Safe sleep 15 minutes check logs were verified and observed. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of \342\200\234medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP . A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the director, Sumali Ganegoda. No deficiencies were cited.
