What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tatiana Bickham conducted 3 year required inspection inspection to the above facility on 07/23/2025.\302\240 LPAs arrived at the facility at 2:20 PM, identified self and met with Mallika Premachandra, Licensee, who guided LPAs on a tour of the facility.\302\240 LPAs provided Licensee with a copy of the LIC 126 Entrance Checklist to help facilitate the inspection. There were 16 children and 1 staff present when LPA arrived. Facility capacity is not compliance for a large Family Child Care Home. Hours of operation are Mon-Fri 6:45 AM - 7:00PM and Saturday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Upon arrival Licensee's assistant open the door and closed the door before LPA could enter the home. Once LPA entered the home, Licensee's assistant was not present. LPA asked Licensee where is your assistant and Licensee stated she left. LPA informed Licensee without an assistant she is out of ratio, Licensee's assistant returned at 2:30 PM. All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. LPA asked to inspect all rooms in the home, Licensee stated these are my rooms and they are not used in the day-care. LPA asked to see all rooms, Licensee opened two bedrooms, LPA observed 2 children napping in one room and another child sleep in a stroller with a blanket over them. LPA did not disclose their were children in the bedrooms. LPA informed Licensee, children are not allowed to sleep in the stroller, if a child arrives sleep in the stroller they must be moved immediately. At 2:30 PM two children were picked up putting the facility back into capacity. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or Page 1. transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of$100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Due to time constraints the Annual visit will be completed on a future date. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with MALLIKA PREMACHANDRA , Licensee.
