What the inspector wrote

On 10/31/2025 Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Lisa Clayton arrived DeMarrais Family Child Care unannounced, to conduct a Case Management \342\200\223 other inspection. LPA Clayton was greeted by Licensee Jeanne DeMarrais. LPA Clayton observed 4 children in care. LPA Clayton toured the facility inside and outside for a Health and Safety inspection. During the inspection of the backyard, LPA Clayton observed the wood playhouse/play structure to be in need of repair on the steps leading up to the playhouse, and evidence of termites on the structure. LPA Clayton also observed an overgrown fruit tree obstructing the view of the sandbox. LPA Clayton advised the following: \302\267 Have the play structure inspected for termites no later than November 11, 2025 (forward a copy of the inspection report to LPA Clayton via email) \302\267 Any recommended repairs the structure completely immediately after \302\267 Trim the fruit tree obstructing the sandbox as soon as possible An exit interview was conducted, the report was reviewed and a copy was provided to Licensee Jeanne LPA Clayton posted the Notice of Site visit which must remain posted for 30 days.

These rights include, but are not limited to, the following: (1)To be treated with dignity in his/her personal relationship with staff and other persons. (4) To be free from corporal or unusual punishment, infliction of pain, humiliation,..... punitive nature, including, but not limited to: interference with eating, sleeping or toileting; or withholding shelter, clothing, medication or aids to physical functioning. This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Licensees admission of using a fabric table cloth to hold and restrain the child, which posed a Health and Safety risk to a child in care.
