What the inspector wrote

On 08/20/2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Doris Whitmore conducted an unannounced 3 year Inspection at the above-mentioned facility. LPA was greeted by Alicia Arce. LPA Whitmore was guided on a tour of the home both inside and outside. Present during today\342\200\231s inspection were no children. Licensee stated that she has not had any children since the beginning of the year. LPA checked to make sure during today\342\200\231s inspection all adults were fingerprint cleared and associated to the facility. The licensee was the only one in the home. . The purpose of this inspection is to ensure that health, and safety standards are being met as required by Title 22 Regulations governing California Child Care Homes will be met by licensee. The facility is licensed for a Family Child Care with a max of 12 . The facility hours of operation are Monday- Friday from 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. During the inspection Per the licensee there is one cat in the home.LPA toured the home inside and outside, day care operation is conducted in the living room area only, there are two bedrooms that are off limits, LPA observed these rooms to be locked and made inaccessible to children care. The home was clean and orderly. Per licensee there are no firearms or ammunition on the premises, LPA did not observe any weapons. LPA did not observe any bodies of water. Licensee stated she used to have a pool a couple of years ago. LPA Whitmore informed the licensee about the new pool regulations. Per the licensee the next door neighbors to the left has a swimming pool.LPA Whitmore went to the backyard to checked. The fence is still up. There is no in ground pool. LPA Whitmore observed dry grass. LPA observed the lower kitchen cabinet containing detergents and cleaning compounds to be made inaccessible by latching, LPA informed licensee that the cabinet containing detergents and cleaning compound shall have a locking mechanism attached. The heater located in living area was barricaded and inaccessible to children in care. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector present. The home had adequate heating and ventilation. Safe toys and play equipment were observed. The home was observed to have many materials for the children with manipulatives and a small table, Page 1 Page 2 observed. Home has a working Fire Extinguisher. The outdoor area was inspected.LPA observed a locked room in the rear of the home, per licensee this was the laundry room. LPA did not observe any hazardous conditions in this area. There were no children files to be checked. LPA Whitmore checked the licensee file. Licensee had a current mandated training certificate. Licensee had a current First Aid and CPR. Card. Per the licensee, the class was taken online. LPA Whitmore informed the licensee that the class will need to be taken in person and not online. LPA was unable to review licensee immunization record. Licensee stated that the immunization record was in storage. A Technical was given. Licensee was informed that she has two weeks from today to provide proof. If not i will be back to cite and issue a Type B violation. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee [or facility representative] and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [or facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP . When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Alicia Arce.
