Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Christina Nunez conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the above facility on 6/02/2026. LPA arrived at the facility at 1:10 PM, presented identification and met with Zhanna Gevorgyan, staff, who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Licensee, Hovannes Grigoryan, arrived at 1:20 PM. This is a large capacity family child care home which consists of 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms. Facility operation hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM There were 12 children (including 2 infants) and 2 staff present when LPA arrived. The facility was observed to be within the license capacity and limitations. The children were napping in the living room/daycare area and were provided with adequate and safe sleeping accommodations (2 play yards for infants and 10 cots for older children). Outdoor play area was kept clean with age appropriate toys and had adequate shading from the sun. Garden hose observed as a trip hazard and was immediately gathered for safety. LPA advised to add adequate storage for safety, but stated it is not a necessary fixture and hardly ever used so opted to remove instead. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Due to time constraints the Annual visit will be completed on a future date. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Hovannes Grigoryan, Licensee.
