What does Type A vs Type B mean?
Type A. Serious citation. Imminent or substantial risk to children. The regulator requires corrective action immediately and may impose a civil penalty.
Type B. Lower-severity citation. Corrective action required, no imminent risk. The regulator monitors compliance on the next visit.

Reporting Requirements. As soon as possible but no later then the same business day, the licensee shall notify a child's parent or authorized representative regardless of the injuries or acts that affect that child as specified in Health and Safety Code Section 1597.467(a). Any injury suffered by a child in care shall be reported to that child's parent or authorized representative regardless of treatment by a medical professional. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: On 8/2/23, Child 2 bit Child 1 on the chest, but nor staff or the Licensee had knowledge of the incident until it was brought to their attention by the mother of Child 1. After reviewing video surveillance, facility staff confirmed that the incident happened at the day care but staff did not witness the incident because they were busy assisting other children at the time. This poses a potential health, safety, and personal rights to children in care.

PERSONAL RIGHTS
Personal Rights. Each child receiving services from a family child care home shall have certain rights that shall not be waived or abridged by the licensee regardless of consent or authorization from the child's authorized representative. These rights include, but are not limited to, the following: To receive safe, healthful, and comfortable accommodations, furnishings, and equipment. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: During the interview of staff, it was disclosed that Child 1 sustained 4 bite marks while under the care of Begum Family Child Care. This poses an immediate health, safety, and personal rights to children in care.
