On 08/24/2021 at 12:10 pm, Licensing Analyst Conduct an unannounced visit at the facility for the purpose of clearing POC for Violation issued during Annual inspection on 08/03/2021. Lpa met with the Director Janet Cabrera King and explained the purpose of the site visit. During today visit there were 20 children and 4 staff present. During the Annual inspection conducted, while reviewing Facility Sketch with the Director it was discovered that when the facility was licensed there was a Library located adjacent to the Green Room which was included for the Licensed capacity of 78 preschool children and and 12 Toddlers. By removing the Library and making it into staff lounge, capacity for the preschool children drops to 75 preschool children with a total capacity of 87 children. As a result facility was issued a Type B violation under Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, section 101237 Alterations to Existing Buildings or New Facilities (a) Prior to construction or alterations, the licensee shall notify the Department of the proposed change(s). The facility was given a due date of 08/17/2021 to submit an application for change in capacity or change the room back into the licensed space (library) for children in care. During todays visit, LPA observed the Library space and it has not been changed and an application of change in capacity has not been submitted to the department. There will be a Civil Penalty assessed during todays visit for Failure To Correct Plan of Correction (POC) by 08/17/2021. Please See LIC 421FC, Civil Penalty Assessed from 08/18/2021 to 08/24/2021, $100 per day per violation shall be assessed until the violation is corrected. An exit interview was conducted, a copy of this report, Notice of Site Visit, LIC421FC, and Appeal Rights were provided to the Director.
