Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

"no" to children or place them in timeouts. Instead, if a child is misbehaving, staff redirects the child or allow them to take a break. The Director also stated that all physical injuries are reported to parents. Injuries from the neck and above warrant an immediate phone call, while other injuries are documented on an injury report form that is provided to parents at pick-up. Per interviews with staff, staff stated they have not observed any inappropriate handling of children. They also stated that they have not seen any child appear intimidated or scared of staff. Staff confirmed that injuries from the neck and above are communicated to parents via phone call, and other injuries are reported through ClassDojo or during pick-up. Children’s interviews were inconsistent with the allegations reported. Parents interviewed did not express any concerns regarding the allegations. Parents interviewed stated they are satisfied with the care and services provided by the facility to their children. Based on the investigation conducted, there is insufficient evidence to support the above-mentioned allegations to be true. Therefore, although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are Unsubstantiated. The Notice of Site Visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00. Exit interview was conducted with Angelica Castaneda, Director and appeal rights were provided. Page 2.
