Pre-licensing visit·March 17, 2021

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Donna Maddox conducted a virtual Pre-licensing inspection via Zoom with Mary Gendler, Director. A virtual inspection was conducted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this inspection is to provide technical assistance and ensure the facility is safe for the care and supervision of children. During this virtual inspection, LPA toured 6 classrooms, office area, isolation area, bathrooms, and the outdoor play space. A health check on staff and children will be conducted each day upon arrival. Staff will meet parents and children at the gate where temperatures will be taken and a brief health questionnaire will be completed before children are signed in for the day and escorted to their perspective classrooms. If a child becomes ill during the day, they will rest in the isolation area located in the Red Room which has it's own bathroom and child’s authorized representative will be contacted immediately for pick up. There is a separate staff restroom located in the Main building. The Department of Public Health will be contacted in regard to any COVID-19 illness. Children will stay with the same group as assigned and will not be moved from one group to the other. LPA reminded applicant of the L.A. County guidelines for cohort sizes: 14 Children with 2 Staff, no more than 16 individuals in a cohort and groups should be kept physically separated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Age appropriate furniture including tables and chairs are present in each of the rooms to meet the needs of children in care. There is a designated outdoor play area with age appropriate equipment and activities. Drinking water will be supplied by water coolers with disposable cups. The following are the classrooms with measurements and the age group of the children: Red Room - Isolation Room has private bath Yellow Room - 3 year olds [27 X 23 = 621/35 = 18] Blue Room - 2 year olds [27 X 23 = 621/35 = 18] Orange Room - 4 year old - 3 days [29 X 25 = 725/35 = 21] Green Room - 4 year old - 5 days [29 X 30 = 870/35 = 25] Purple Room - is empty right now but hope to fill it with children [29 X 25 = 725/35 = 21] Bathrooms (Girls and Boys) between Purple and Orange have 1 sink and 2 toilets in each with additional sinks in the classrooms Bathroom between Blue and Yellow has 2 sinks and 2 toilets Bathroom off Red Room(isolation Room) has 2 toilets and 2 sinks, on map it is labeled the "Changing Room" The facility will maintain children files that include emergency authorization cards and staff files that include proof of criminal background clearance. All childcare areas, including the playgrounds, will be cleaned and sanitized daily or more often as necessary following the facility’s cleaning and sanitation policies. Center shall ensure a thorough review of Provider Information Notices (PINS) located on the Departments web page www.ccld.ca.gov and shall adhere to Public Health guidelines and directives. Fire Clearance Received 3/18/2021. Center is ready for licensure.
