Facility-requested visit·November 4, 2025

On 11/4/2025 Licensing Program Analyst, Jillinda Chandler made an announced Case Management - Licensee Initiated visit to Wiseburn Preschool Enrichment at 12501 Isis Avenue, Hawthorne, CA. 90250. The preschool is located on the campus of DaVinci Connect. The purpose of todays visit was to decrease the current capacity of 111 preschool children to 69 children ages 2.9 - 5 years. The preschool is temporarily under construction and has been reduced to 3 classrooms (rooms 4,3, and 1) and an office/lounge (room 2). Per the director construction will possibly last until 2026 at which time a subsequent visit will be conducted. As of today there was not an approved fire clearance on file, therefore the application shall be pending an approved fire clearance. LPA observed the following of the preschool: Classrooms were clean, age appropriate furniture was observed in good repair, adequate heating and lighting was observed. Facility had functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in each classroom, fire extinguishers were in need of inspection, extinguishers last inspection dates were 12/26/2023. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons, medications and other hazardous items were inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed 8 toilets, 8 sinks, and 1 urinal for children's use. Staff are temporarily using portable restrooms during construction. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. LPA observed a changing table in one of the restrooms that was not within arms reach of a sing, director was informed that the changing table shall be placed within arm's reach of a sink or removed. Meals are provided by parents, parents or authorized representatives sign children in and out using their original signatures. Playground equipment was in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Benches, shade and water for drinking was observed. There were no swimming pools or other bodies of water observed on the premises. The surface of the outdoor activity space was maintained in fair condition. During todays inspection LPA observed construction being conducted near the preschool's outdoor activity area, temporary gates were erected to enclose and separate the outdoor activity space from construction activities, gates were approximately 6 feet tall and provided privacy covering. LPA observed gapping in the temporary gate near the restroom and the storage shed, LPA informed the director that these areas shall be made inaccessible to children in care, the gaps were repaired prior to the end of todays inspection. There were no firearms or ammunition observed or stored on the premises during todays inspection. Measurements for the indoor activity space = 2612.26 square feet Measurements for the outdoor activity space = 6997.70 square feet Based on todays observations and measurements the preschool shall be recommended for a capacity of 69 children at the request of the applicant, and pending the following corrections or repairs: Approved fire clearance, Extinguishers last inspection date was 12/26/2023. LPA advised that a door safety knob be added to the door connecting room 1 to the director/lounge area, and changing tables shall be placed within arm\342\200\231s reach of a sink or removed.
