Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

The facility staff are reporting that children who are able to eat on their own are placed at a table and children that cannot feed themselves or walk around the classroom during mealtime are placed in highchairs. Staff assist children who cannot feed themselves. Parents bring food and if they do not like it, staff feed them the food that the facility provides. Staff do not force children to eat if they are not hungry. Staff are reporting that children are removed from the highchair when they are done eating. Parents are reporting that the facility provides meals and some parents are reporting that they provide the facility with food that can also be used to feed their children. Parents are not reporting any concern about the food services provided by the facility. Parents are reporting that their children are placed at a table or a highchair to eat. Parents are reporting that they have only observed children in highchairs when they are eating during mealtime or snack times. Based on the evidence obtained, LPA was unable to corroborate that the Allegations, (1) Food services inadequate for day care child; and (2) Day care child was restrained while in care did or did not occur. Therefore, the allegation is determined Unsubstantiated. A finding that the complaint is unsubstantiated means that although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the allegation occurred. A copy of this report, Notice of Site Visit and Appeal Rights were explained and provided to the Director Tara Perrera.
