What the inspector wrote

On 11/06/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lisa Clayton conducted an unannounced Required Inspection at A-List Montessori Preschool. LPA Clayton met with Director Anallely Guatemala. LPA Clayton observed 14 children being supervised and cared for appropriately by 4 fingerprint cleared staff. Facility hours of operation are Monday \342\200\223 Friday, 8:00am \342\200\223 6:00pm. The CCC provides water. LPA Clayton toured the facility indoors and outdoors for a Health and Safety Inspection. Capacity and limitations as specified on the license are being maintained. All children are under visual supervision of a teacher at all times. The CCC is in compliance with Title 22 regulations regarding Staff to Student ratios. There are no pools, ponds, Jacuzzis, spas or any other bodies of water on the property. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. All poisons are kept in a locked cabinet area. LPA Clayton inspected the classrooms and observed age-appropriate toys, books and furnishings. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. All hand washing facilities and toilets are in safe and sanitary operating condition. LPA Clayton inspected napping equipment placement, bedding and storage for safety. Water temperature, toilet paper, paper towels, safety and sanitation were inspected. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. All meals (breakfast, lunch and snacks) are provided by children\342\200\231s parents/authorized representative. LPA Clayton observed staff reheating lunches in the microwave in the directors office. The lunch boxes are stored in the hallway, near the cubbies. LPA Clayton conducted a Health and Safety inspection of the food storage area, and the microwave area and it is free of litter/rubbish and free of rodents/vermin. All food is protected against contamination and any contaminated food is to be discarded immediately. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. LPA Clayton observed fully charged 3A:40B:C Fire Extinguisher in the classroom. LPA Clayton observed a working carbon monoxide/smoke detector combo in the classroom. LPA Clayton reviewed the CCC disaster drill log. LPA Clayton reviewed 5 children\342\200\231s files and observed files to have current contact information of parents and authorized representatives, and authorization for medical treatment, signed Parent\342\200\231s Rights and signed Personal Rights receipts. LPA Clayton reviewed 5 employee files which were found to be in compliance with immunization for childcare providers and LPA Clayton observed CPR/First Aid as required for opening and closing staff. LPA Clayton reminded Director that Mandated Reporter training certificates are to be renewed every 2 years following the date on which the initial or last training certificate was received. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS are not currently being provided. LPA Clayton provided Director Analley with the IMS sample plan and instructed her to forward a copy to the office immediately upon completion. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP . Director was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. LPA Clayton reminded the staff to access the Community Care Licensing website www.ccld.ca.gov for access to Provider Information Notices (PINs), Quarterly Updates, COVID-19 Information and Resources, Mandated Reporter Training, Safe Sleep in Child Care, Lead Poisoning Facts, Forms and Regulations. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations and/or Health and Safety Codes, no Deficiencies were cited. During the exit interview the report was reviewed and a copy was provided to Director Anallely. LPA Clayton posted a Notice of Site Visit which must remain posted for 30 days.
