What the inspector wrote

On December 5th, 2025, at 1:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Devon Carus, conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and was met by licensee, Xochitl Padilla. The above daycare has 1 child enrolled. LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. At the time of the visit, there was 1 child present. Current facility sketch reviewed, and Licensee confirmed that the kitchen is off limits and made inaccessible via child safety gates, and cabinet/drawer locks. This two-story home was inspected as follows: den area, front yard play area, and one bathroom. All poisons and cleaning supplies are kept under the kitchen sink and are inaccessible to children in care via child safety gates and child safety latches. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. Medication is kept in the first aid kit which is in the children\342\200\231s restroom in a locked cabinet. There is a working fire extinguisher (2A-10BC), smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. LPA confirmed the available cell phone number is 310 722 5254 . The day care play area is in the den area, and front yard. The children reside here while in care. There are locked doors and safety gates keeping the children in the day care area. There are mats and cots for the children to sleep or rest on. The Daycare is open from 9AM-5:30PM Mon-Fri. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. LPA did not observe any pools or bodies of water on the premises. Licensee\342\200\231s pediatric CPR/First Aid expires August 3rd, 2026. A review of records indicates that all employees and/or volunteers have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis, measles, and Tuberculosis. The licensee provides snacks and lunches for children in care. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
