Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 07/11/2024, at 11:30 a.m, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Justeene Tamayo and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Mariela Ramon conducted a case management inspection to ensure the corrections for the in ground swimming pool fence complies with Title 22 Regulations. Upon arrival LPA and LPM were greeted by licensee, and observed 3 infants and 5 preschool children in care, along with assistant #1. On 06/19/24, LPA Tamayo observed a section of the wrought iron fence to measure at 4.8 ft in height. LPA also observed the safety latch mechanism to measure at 14 inches below the top of the gate, which does not meet the requirement of no more than 6 inches below the top of the gate. During this inspection, LPA and LPM inspected the swimming pool fencing, and observed the following: -The wrought iron fence now measures at 5 feet in height. The horizontal beams measure at 4 inches apart. -There are two gates on the swimming pool fencing. Both self-latching mechanisms were observed to measure at 6 inches below the top of the gate, self latching and self closing. The licensee has decided to install a wrought iron fence/gate to separate the patio area from the outdoor play area designated for the day care children. The fencing for the in ground swimming pool now follows California TItle 22 regulations. An exit interview was conducted with licensee Maria Garcia. This report was provided to the licensee, along with a copy of her Appeal Rights, and Notice of Site Visit.
