SMITH FAMILY CHILD CARE

What Happened

Annual random inspection found the home generally orderly, but the required fire extinguisher was the wrong size and the backyard fencing was unstable. Child files were incomplete and both mandated reporter training and CPR/First Aid were expired, leading to three Type B deficiencies.

Observations

  • The required 2A10BC fire extinguisher was not the correct size and had to be replaced.
  • Several wood fence sections in the backyard were unstable, so the licensee agreed children would not use the yard until repaired.
  • Mandated reporter training and CPR/First Aid were expired.
  • Child files were not complete.
