What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maddox conducted a Case Management (CM) inspection today and met with Keelan Pratt, Director. The purpose of this inspection was to measure the Duck room (according to the facility sketch) to be occupied by Toddlers on the left side (ages 18 mos. to 36 mos.), this room is currently occupied by Preschool children. This is a combination center with a licensed School-age program (X 197750028 ) on the premises. Both programs will also go through a name change, in lieu of Sunshine Learning Center, the name will be changed to Cadence Academy Preschool. Director states they are contemplating expanding the Toddler option to the other side of the classroom in the future. Both sides of the room were measured today, and the measurements were as follows: The Left and Right Side had the same measurements: 16 X 27 = 432/35 = 12 There are 2 bathrooms in the room and each bathroom has 1 toilet, 1 sink, and 1 changing table. The outdoor play yard can be accessed directly from this classroom, the measurements taken today were: 34 X 24 = 816/75 = 11 (grass area) There is another side of the play yard (barricaded) that has a climbing apparatus with wood chips underneath for cushioning material, the manufacturers age limit for the climbing apparatus is limited to children 2 yrs. \342\200\223 5 yrs. Measurements for the barricaded wood chip area were as follows: 34 X 24 = 81/75 = 11 Total capacity for the outside area is 22, the grass area will be designated for Toddlers. This facility is requesting to use the left side of the classroom for Toddlers, they are requesting to decrease the PS by 10 children to accommodate the 10 Toddlers, a Fire Clearance has been granted and received for 10 Toddlers. The current capacity is 148 PS children, with the decrease of 10, the new capacity will be 138 PS and 10 Toddlers. LPA reminded Director there is a $25 fee for an increase or decrease in capacity.
