What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Justin Dorsey met with acting director Diana Rodriguez today for the purpose of conducting a required - 1 year inspection of the pre-school. Present today were 30 children and 6 teachers. There is also a k-12 program at the facility. Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness, cleanliness and good repair. Telephone service was verified as well as heating, lighting, and ventilation. LPA observed age appropriate toys and materials. The toddler component is separate from the preschool component. Furniture and equipment were observed in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. The toddler changing table is located in the restroom of the Mini Dragons classroom. The Changing table, is within arms reach of sink. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children were observed to be inaccessible. LPA Dorsey observed the preschoolers outdoor play area. LPA Dorsey observed all outdoor toys and equipment were in good repair. LPA Dorsey did not observe any hazardous items in the play areas. The facility has a kitchen near the main office. Per acting director cleaning solutions and disinfectants are not kept in the kitchen. According to the acting director no children in care take any medications. Any medications would be stored in the office. LPA observed kitchen food prep and storage areas to be clean and free of litter. Storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins were observed to have tight-fitting covers that are kept on and in good repair. Chemicals and cleaning solutions are kept separate from the food in the kitchen. Teacher/child ratio was observed to be within regulations. Fire/earthquake drills are current. Mandated Reporter training for teachers are current. The parent board was reviewed and has all of the required forms posted. Sign in/out sheet was observed. Sign in/sign out sheets are located outside of each classroom. Staff #1 First Aid/CPR certificate was observed and found current (Expires: 07/05/2022). LPA observed fire extinguishers and carbon monoxide detectors in operable condition. Per acting director no children at the facility have allergies. Children's allergy lists would be located in the classrooms. LPA Dorsey observed staff and children files. LPA Dorsey observed Staff #1 to be missing their immunization record. LPA Dorsey also observed Staff #5 & #6 to be missing their LIC 503 form. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. Licensee advised to regularly review Quarterly Updates. Facility was evaluated in accordance with licensing laws and regulations to ensure the health and safety of children. LIC 9213- Notice of Site Visit was given. Notice of Site Visit must remain posted for 30 consecutive days. Failure to do so will result in an immediate civil penalty assessment of $100. Exit Interview conducted and a copy of the report was read and provided to acting director Rodriguez.
