What the inspector wrote

LPA's Maddox and Ayala met with director for the purpose of conducting a Pre licensing inspection for an Infant component. The facility consist of 1 classroom, nap Room,and the outside play area. The Infant component will occupy Room C located in the rear area of the building and will have it's own outside play area. Days/hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE : Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Indoor activity space for infants is physically separate from space used by the Preschool children. The isolation area will be located in the front office area. There is a separate staff bathroom which will be used as an isolation room. Sign-in and Out Procedure: Center will utilize an electronic sign in and out procedure (Brightwheel) Center has the capability of producing hard copies if needed. NAPPING: Bedding shall be individually stored so that each child's bedding is identifiable and no child's used bedding comes into contact with other bedding. Each infant's bedding shall be used for him/her only. Bedding shall be changed daily, or more often if required. Mattresses shall be wiped with a detergent/disinfectant daily or when soiled or wet; crib mattress shall be maintained in a safe condition with no exposed foam, batting or coils. HEALTH RELATED SERVICES: Applicant has a developed plan to implement and to record the administration of prescription and nonprescription medications and to inform the child's authorized representative daily when such medications have been given. LPA observed smoke detectors and Carbon Monoxide detectors throughout the center. Infant Room : 18 X 25= 450/35 = 13 Outdoor Space Infants = 38 X 15= 570/75 = 8 With measurements taken, the Infant Center can accommodate 13 Infants indoors; and 13 Infants outdoors, there is an approved Fire Clearance for 6 Infants. LPA has verified the Director Qualifications, Lead Poisoning training, Mandated Reporter, and required Orientations. Applicant was informed of the new Safe Sleep Regulations and the requirement to check on infants and the documentation Facility is ready for liensure. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was provided to director.
