Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 04/02/2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Justeene Tamayo conducted an unannounced Case Management visit. The purpose of the visit was to inspect the finished completion of the outdoor shaded structure that was professionally installed by Safe Play Company for the infant/toddler outdoor activity space. LPA met with Director Rocio Carrillo. Upon arrival, there were 31 toddlers and infants and 11 teachers present. A temporary waiver was approved on 12/18/2025, allowing infants and toddlers to continue using the outdoor play yard on a staggered schedule while the new shade structure was being installed. During this period, eight infants used Playground #1 at alternating times, and thirteen toddlers used Playground #2 at alternating times. During today’s visit, LPA Tamayo observed that the blue shade structures are completed. The structures were professionally installed and finished over spring break on 03/26/2026 and were found to be in stable condition. In the infant playground area, two pillars are equipped with safety cushions to help prevent bumping injuries. In the toddler playground area, three pillars are similarly cushioned for safety. Age-appropriate toys and outdoor play equipment for both infants and toddlers were present. No hazardous items or unsafe equipment were observed. LPA Tamayo also took photographs of the completed shade structures to update the facility file. The center will now return to its normal outdoor activity schedule, and the temporary waiver is no longer needed. An exit interview was conducted, and a copy of this report was read and provided to Rocio Carrillo, along with a copy of her appeal rights and Notice of Site Visit.
