What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Seung Lee and Stephanie Li conducted an unannounced required inspection on this date. LPAs met with Director Pam Deem who provided a tour of the facility. The facility operates from Monday through Friday, 6:30 am through 6:00pm. The school-age component is located in Classroom E on the same site as both the preschool #191597334 and infant #191501406 components. The school-age program shares the outdoor playspace with the preschool program, in which there is an approved waiver on file. LPAs observed a total of 17 children and 2 staff. The school-age classroom was inspected. LPAs observed drinking water in form of a water fountain and personal water bottles. There are 2 separate restrooms, each with one toilet and sink. Breakfast, lunch and snack menu was observed posted in the classroom. There are age appropriate equipment, furniture, and activity supplies for children. There is a carbon monoxide detector located in the kitchen and was found in operable condition. The outdoor playground was inspected. The playground is shared with the preschool program on a staggered schedule so that there is no comingling. Fencing, flooring, cushioning material, and equipment were inspected. LPAs did not observe any hazards or violations. The children are given bottled water for indoor and outdoor activities. At 1:40PM ,Staff and children\342\200\231s records were reviewed for completeness. During file review LPAs observed Staff#2 was missing proof of immunization for measles. This is a potential risk to children in care. LPAs observed that Staff#2's AB1207 Mandated reporter training was expired as of 06/2023. Staff#1's certificate was observed to be current but the certificate was observed to not be from the official site. A technical violation was issued during the inspection. The Director stated both staff members will retake the training from the accepted training website and will provide proof within a week. Please refer to the 809D deficiency page for further information. Sign in and out sheets were reviewed. When needed, the director's office is used as isolation area. Medication is stored in director's office. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. Currently there are no children in care with IMS needs. No deficiencies were cited during today's inspection. Exit interview conducted with Director Pam Deem. A copy of this report and appeal rights were provided and explained. The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) \342\200\223 must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00.
