What the inspector wrote

Various interviews have revealed that children get scratches during activities. However, per staff, they try to redirect children or separate the children when there\342\200\231s inappropriate behavior. C2 denied scratching C1 intentionally. Parents interviewed did not have any concerns regarding the staff or the care provided to their children. Allegation #3: Staff using inappropriate forms of punishment. Specifically, C1 was made to sit at a separate table by S1. According to staff interviewed, children were separated during inappropriate behavior. Child sits at a separate table to calm the child down until the child is ready to rejoin the group. There were no disclosures to indicate that staff are using inappropriate forms of punishment to C1. Parents interviewed did not have any concerns regarding the staff or the care provided to their children. Allegation #4: Staff retaliates against daycare child. Specifically, facility is retaliating against C1. Various interviews have revealed that the disenrollment of C1 was decided by upper management. Per center\342\200\231s District Leader, the decision to terminate service was made for the safety of the staff and the children in care. The basis for the termination was indicated in the Family Handbook and Enrollment Agreement and states that no prior notice is required. Parents interviewed did not have any concerns regarding the staff or the care provided to their children. Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore at this time the above 4 allegations are unsubstantiated. A Notice of Site visit was posted and must remain for 30 days. Exit interview held and copy of report provided to Program Specialist Danielle Rojas.
