What the inspector wrote

This report/inspection was initially conducted on 4/14/22 but was lost due to a consistency check. Original report was final printed and is included in this report as an attachment. An unannounced Required Annual Inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Bardo Baluyot who met with Assistant, Ms. Trisha Cuomo. This facility operates a morning and afternoon session from 6:30-9:30am and 1-6pm. LPA observed 2 staff with 11 children. LPA found that facility is within ratio. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine if the basic needs of children are met. LPA observed during this inspection that facility is in compliance of this. LPA reviewed sign in/outs sheets and found complete. This bungalow is located behind the two other bungalows belonging to the Head Start program which are visible from the street. Children from this program access the site from the McKinley Elementary School. Children have their own outdoor activity space. Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and its condition. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Storage space/area for children's belongings was inspected. The condition and age appropriateness of children\342\200\231s sinks and toilets were inspected. LPA evaluated general sanitation and cleanliness of facility. Availability of indoor drinking water was observed in form of water fountains attached to sinks. Carbon monoxide detector was tested and found operational. Emergency Drill log was posted and shows last drill Emergency drill was conducted was on 3/24/22 Outdoor area and equipment was inspected for safety, condition and age appropriateness. There is a school playground that is shared with others programs. Children use this playground only when not in use by other programs. Required shade and fencing were inspected. Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. Drinking water is provided in form of water jug and disposable cups. Snack menus were reviewed. Food and snacks were reviewed for availability, quantity and appropriateness to children in care. Food preparation area was inspected. A review of cleaning and food supply storage areas was made. LPA inspected First Aid kit\342\200\231s supplies and found it to be complete. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
