Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Seung Lee conducted an unannounced case management inspection. Upon arrival LPA Lee met with Licensee Maria Egoavil. The purpose of the inspection was to address the observations made during a prior inspection. During a prior inspection, it was observed that that the Licensee had an above ground jacuzzi/spa located in the backyard. According to the License the above ground jacuzzi/spa was installed around August of 2018. It was stated on a prior report on 10/11/2018 that the Licensee was planning on installing a fence around the jacuzzi/spa but the Licensee decided to not install the fence and instead use a pool cover. The entire backyard has been off limits since 2018 according to the Licensee. During a prior inspection conducted on 10/27/2023, LPA observed that the top cover for the above ground jacuzzi/spa was not fitted securely which is an immediate risk to children in care. Please see the attached 809D for more information about the deficiency. Licensee stated that she will contact the vendor to order a new cover by the POC date. While the cover for the spa/jacuzzi was not fitted securely, there was no actual water observed inside the jacuzzi. The entire backyard has been off limits to children since 2018 and there was no sign that children in care go out into the backyard during the inspection. The notice of site inspection along with this report must remain posted for a period of 30 days during hours of operation. Failure to maintain postings for 30 days will result in a civil penalty of 100.00 dollars. Licensee was provided with LIC 9224 form during the inspection. Exit interview conducted with Licensee Maria Egoavil. Appeal rights discussed and explained.
