What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection to follow up on an incident reported to the Department on 11/14/2024. Upon arrival at 11am, LPA met with Lead Teacher Esmeralda Franco, to whom the purpose of the inspection was explained. A tour of the facility was provided and children were observed to be present during the time of inspection. Census was taken. There were 20 children with 9 staff members. On 11/07/2024, an incident took place where Child #1 bit Child #2 while at the facility. Facility was notified on 11/13/2024 that Child #2 received medical treatment for the injury. Facility reported to Department within the required 24hrs. LPA is following up to determine if a violation of Personal Rights has occurred. Immediately, following the incident, staff provided first aid and spoke with both children involved. Parents were contacted for both children. LPA conducted interview with one staff member during today's inspection and obtained documents in the form of email threads and Site Visit Forms. Based on the information gathered during today's inspection, Facility has been responding appropriately to the incident at the facility. LPA determined that there was no violation of Personal Rights. No deficiencies are being cited during today's inspection. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Lead Teacher Esmeralda Franco, at 12:50pm. Copy of Report provided. END OF REPORT
